Predicting or preventing out of stock issues? Average delivery times?

Is the goal to let someone know when the product is out? Or is the goal to insure there's never a product out of stock? What's the average length between stock deliveries? If a machine is 100% out of one product (due to small amount) but still 90% full overall, would that warrant a restock? Or does the entire cooler have to have it's stock depleted to get restocked before the scheduled refill date?

    Seems like you could manage "reorder points" per SKU. Because it would seem most likely that every cooler install would have a different inventory configuration.
